Jesus is buried in Joseph’s tomb, witnessed by the women and secured by a guard. On the first day of the week, an angel announces that He has risen just as He said. The women leave with fear and great joy, then meet the living Jesus, worship Him, and receive His command to tell the disciples.
Christ’s resurrection gives His people assurance of future life and reveals the Spirit’s power already at work within them. United with Jesus in His death and resurrection, we are called to leave sin behind and walk in newness of life. The risen Savior calls us to repent, trust Him, and bear witness with joy.
