FROM THE WORD

Luke 9:10–17 | Showing the Hospitality of Jesus

September 27, 2026

In Luke 9:10–17, Jesus welcomes a crowd into a desolate place, teaches them about the kingdom of God, heals those in need, and feeds them with five loaves and two fish. His provision reveals His deity and kingship while showing the disciples what it means to receive people with compassion, even when resources seem insufficient.

Jesus’ hospitality reaches beyond a meal: through His body and blood, He brings forgiven sinners into fellowship with God forever. Having been welcomed by His grace through faith, we are called to welcome others—friends and strangers alike—creating opportunities to share Jesus through meals, conversation, a smile, and intentional acts of love.
